Entro certi limiti, organized in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Verona on the occasion of First Step 12 — a project that supports students and recent graduates of the Academy by offering them a space for visibility, dialogue, and experimentation, with the aim of valuing emerging practices and promoting new forms of artistic research.

Entro certi limiti” is an expression that hints at a carefully drawn space, at something that can exist only up to a certain point. But it also evokes everything that sits on the edge, ready to be crossed. It speaks of something that moves within, yet feels the pressure of what lies outside. It is about rules, measurements, thresholds—but also about desires that push, tensions that demand space, presences that make themselves felt even in silence. Every “inside” carries with it an “outside” that defines it, contains it, questions it. And limits are not always impassable walls. Sometimes they are half-open doors, cracks, surfaces as thin as skin—spaces in which the boundary is not closure but a point of passage.
The title thus introduces a reflection on intimacy, inhabiting, and the threshold as a space of encounter and possibility. The works gathered in this exhibition move through these interstices, making limits visible and tuning us in to what traverses them.
Curated by Chiara Bandino, the exhibition brings together the works of Sara Calcinai and Sara Romagnoli, two artists who explore the tension between interior and exterior, between rule and desire, between presence and absence. Their research dwells in threshold spaces, making limits tangible and transforming them into permeable surfaces—skin, openings, passages.
