VAP 2025's Epilogue: Defensive Readiness Revised by Amin Yousefi

Visit by Appointment

Fonderia 20.9 is pleased to present the 2025 edition of its Visiting Artist Program (VAP), featuring Amin Yousefi, selected through this year’s Open Call. The residency will take place from 1 to 6 December 2025, culminating in a public presentation — Epilogue — on Saturday, 6 December at 6:00 PM.

Throughout the week, the gallery will function as an open studio, offering visitors a chance to engage with the development of Defensive Readiness: Revised Edition, Yousefi’s ongoing research-based project.

Born in Abadan, Iran and currently based in London, Amin Yousefi is an artist, writer, and researcher whose work critically examines photography’s role in systems of power, authorship, and institutional control.

At Fonderia 20.9, Yousefi continues his long-term investigation into a state-issued Iranian military training textbook. Through photographic reconstruction, annotation, typographic intervention, and public engagement, he reimagines the textbook as a living editorial object—where revision becomes a form of resistance.

VAP is a short-format, process-based residency that invites artists to use Fonderia 20.9 as a space for focused research, experimentation, and public engagement.
